Buying a radiator can be difficult, especially when you need a specific size to fit into a specific place. Many radiators come in set sizes, so purchasing a radiator to fit certain areas in your property can sometimes be a nightmare. But that's where these useful sectional radiators come in.

So What are Sectional Radiators?

Lux Heat Aster 2 Column Radiator

The Lux Heat Aster 2-Column Radiator is available in many size options to fit easily into your interior. It features high heat outputs, a 10-year warranty & has a range of finishes.

Sectional radiators are radiators that can be purchased in sections rather than specific sizes. They are typically column radiator designs as these are easier to section out when manufacturing them.

Column radiators have individual rows of columns that each heat up and maximise heat outputs through the exchange of heat from the gaps between the columns, they are incredibly efficient in their heat outputs, are highly durable, and can come in a range of modern and traditional designs at affordable prices.

What Size Would I Need?

The most common question we get asked at Designer Radiators Direct is “What size?” This isn’t an easy answer as everyone's interior space is different.

What you need to work out is the BTU your space requires, and then you need to think about how much space you have available for a radiator. Can you have a thick radiator or does it need to be thin? Can you fit a horizontal or does it need to be a vertical radiator? These are all things you need to think about when purchasing a radiator, and this is why sectional radiators are so popular as you can choose a size closest to your needs by working out the amount of sections you need.

But first things first, the BTU output for your room. To work this out you can use our free BTU calculator, all you need to do is measure your room and answer a few questions, once you have done this our calculator will work it out and show you the BTU you need to heat your space efficiently, it will also filter recommended radiators so if you’re struggling for a design or style have a look there.

How To Purchase Sectional Radiators?

The MHS Multisec Column Radiator comes in over 300 size options and is the perfect addition for more awkward spaces. It starts at a brilliantly low price & has a range of finish options to match your interior flawlessly.

At Designer Radiators Direct, all of the information given on our sectional radiators is in 1 section only. The price, BTU, and width measurement. This is where multiplication comes in.

If you want a radiator to be 1200mm wide, you select the height you need from the dropdown box, and from there you can see how wide each section is.

For example: if a radiator has sections 45mm wide, what you can do is 1200mm divided by 45mm = 26.67. So you might choose 26 sections giving you a width of 1170mm or 27 giving you 1215mm. The same applies to the BTUs for the heat output and the price too.

If you do need a helping hand with this, or if you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact our team. Our award-winning team can help you with the sizes you need or can help with any queries you have.

What Are The Benefits Of Section Radiators?

Sectional radiators are mainly for if you are limited to a specific size. So they are great for being flexible in their sizes, meaning no matter the space you have, a sectional radiator will fit.

But if you aren’t extremely limited on size then a column radiator will be fine. At Designer Radiators Direct we have column and panel radiators in a huge range of sizes, this offers customers who are limited with size, a wider range to choose from.

One big benefit of sectional radiators is their affordability, as our section radiators are priced per section it means that you don’t have to pay for more than you need, instead you just pay for the size you choose. This makes sectional radiators ideal if you are on a budget.

Another benefit is the BTU, as you can choose the size to suit you, it also means you can get the perfect BTU output for your space, giving you endless comfort and brilliant warmth that's designed for your room.

Sectional radiators have many of the same benefits that column radiators have. So if you would like to learn more about column radiators and see more benefits please visit our column radiator blog
