Brushed Radiator Valves

Our brushed radiator valves ensure you get high quality at brilliant prices. The distinct brushed finish adds texture to your valves without being overwhelmingly shiny. The duller glow creates an elegant character that easily boosts the look of any radiator, no matter its design.

Brushed Radiator Valves. Endless Style And Low Prices With Designer Radiators Direct

If you're looking for something to add to your radiator then check out our range of brushed radiator valves. These valves come in various designs and coloured finishes, but all have that distinct brushed metal look that provides texture and class.

Brushed metal has a dull polish that is made through friction. To create this look, crafters polish the valve with a bristled brush attached to specialist machinery, while keeping the strokes facing the same direction for a smooth look. Followed by other steps, it gives the brushed valve a matte sheen that is loved by many.

Brushed Radiator Valves Popular Questions

What Radiator Valves Will I Need?

Our radiator valves come in a range of shapes. Not all valves will fit the radiator you want. It depends on the pipe placement in the room you're looking to place your radiator, and where the connections are on that radiator.

Below are the valve types and what connection placements they need:

  • Angled Valves: If your pipes are coming from the floor and the radiator has side connections.
  • Corner Valves: If your pipework is exiting the wall and the radiator you plan to fit has side connections. OR If your pipes are coming from the wall and the radiator has connections underneath.
  • Straight Valves: The pipework is coming from the floor and the radiator has connections underneath.

What's The Difference Between Manual And Thermostatic Valves?

Manual valves simply open and close, switching your radiator on and off. Whereas thermostatic valves allow for heat adjustments, they are usually numbered from 1-5 so you can choose the right temperature. Not all thermostatic valves have numbering though, instead, they’ll have a handle that you can turn to control the temperature of your radiator. See our guide on the different valves available and the differences between lock shield valves and other valves.

What Style Of Radiator Will Brushed Valves Suit?

The great thing about our brushed valve sets is that they aren’t in one specific colour. We have a wide range of brushed valves in finish options like brushed brass, brushed nickel, satin nickel and brushed pewter to suit any style of radiator, no matter it's design or coloured finish.

How Do You Know If A Radiator Valve Is Opened Or Closed?

If you have a thermostatic radiator valve that is numbered it is easy to see if it's opened or closed. With number 1 being closed and number 5 being open. But if they aren’t numbered it can be a little more tricky.

To open a valve so your radiator heats up just turn the head clockwise and this will open your valve. If you want to turn your radiator off so it doesn’t emit heat, turn the valve anti-clockwise to close it. Once you have done this, switch your heating on and check the radiator, after a couple of minutes you should be able to see if the radiator is on or off.

If you have issues with your radiator heating up and you have opened your valve fully see our guide on how to bleed your radiator as this is usually the most common cause for cold radiators.
