Modern & Traditional Horizontal Radiators At Low Prices And Free UK Delivery On Selected Items

Horizontal radiators are some of the most popular on the market, they come in an array of designs and sizes from traditional column radiators to flat panel horizontal radiators for a more sleek and modern aesthetic.

These long horizontal radiators are fantastic for installing beneath your window as they counter cold air that pours through, the heat then rises providing warm airflow in the room. Horizontal radiators are also designed to fit in more awkward spaces, under your stairs or in utility rooms to grant heat in those colder areas. Due to their vast range of size options, it’s not hard to find a horizontal radiator that will fit in your interior.

Before you start looking for a new horizontal radiator it is important to make sure you're getting one that can heat up to the required BTU of your space. At Designer Radiators Direct, we've made this easy to work out with our handy BTU calculator.

Horizontal Radiators Popular Questions

What Horizontal Radiator Designs Are There To Choose From?

We have a wide range of horizontal radiators in a choice of designs and styles. One of our most popular styles is the classic column radiator, these are more preferred in their horizontal shape for a traditional look, but can also come in vertical designs for a more modern appeal. We also stock low level radiators which have less height to fit in more hard to reach spaces.

Are Horizontal Electric Radiators Available?

If you are looking to install an electric horizontal radiator rather than a central heating radiator then you are in luck. We have a wide choice of premium horizontal electric radiators that come with energy saving features and fantastic designs.

What Are The Most Efficient Horizontal Radiators?

We have a wide choice of horizontal radiators in a range of materials, so the most common question we receive is which is most efficient. This will depend on the room you place your radiator in and how you would want to use it.

Aluminium radiators are fantastic for quick bursts of heat and providing rapid heat outputs, they are also lightweight and low in price, but do cool down quicker than other materials.

Stainless steel radiators are great for longevity, they feature high heat outputs and are hardy with longer warranties. The material is corrosion, rust and peel resistant and are easy to maintain but they can be a little bit more expensive.

Cast iron radiators heat up slowly but feature amazing heat retention so once you turn the cast iron radiator off, they can keep their warmth for hours after. They are incredibly durable and can be finished with premium colours for a unique look, but these can be on the heavy side so we recommend securing the horizontal radiator to the wall with our wall stays.

Each of these radiator materials have their own benefits, so it all depends on your preference and how you would use the horizontal radiator. Take a look at our handy blog that goes more into depth regarding radiator materials.

What Size Horizontal Radiator Will I Need?

Depending on the size of the room you are looking to heat will depend on the size of radiator you need. To work out the BTU required for your space use our free BTU calculator, this calculates the BTU needed and filters down the most efficient radiators for your space.

Do I Need Radiator Valves With My Horizontal Radiator?

Radiator valves are sold separately, so if your horizontal radiator has a connection in a different place from your current radiator then you will need new valves. We have three radiator valve shapes and not all radiators can fit into them. Here is a little detail of what is suitable for each valve;

Angled Valves - For when pipes are coming from the floor and the radiator as side connections.

Straight Valves - For when the pipes are coming from the floor and the radiator as underneath connections.

Corner valves - For when your pipework is coming from the wall and the radiator has either side or underneath connections.
