Central Heating Radiators FAQs
What Are Central Heating Radiators?
Radiators for central heating are a cost-effective and efficient method to heat your house. Many homes have gas central heating, which consists of a gas boiler and a network of connected radiators. Because gas is an energy-efficient fuel with low waste, you may anticipate a high return on every unit of energy you consume. As a result, heating your house using central heating radiators will keep your expenses low while still keeping each area warm and comfortable.
Are Central Heating Radiators Efficient?
Gas central heating radiators are the most common radiators around, this is because of how efficient they are at heating spaces. Central heating radiators are connected with pipes straight to the boiler, meaning they can be quicker at heating up and have a big energy output. Hot water is pulled from the boiler into the radiator and once the water is cooled it is sent back to the boiler to warm back up and start the process again, so you get consistent hot water running though your radiator whenever it's switched on. If you're looking for a high heat output, stable temperatures and durable radiators then central heating radiators are for you.
What Materials Are Available for Central Heating Radiators?
Central heating radiators are available in a wide range of materials. The different materials include:
Mild steel , which is affordable and durable but has lower length warranties.
Aluminium radiators which are lightweight, highly affordable and provide rapid heating with warranties ranging from 5-10 years typically.
Stainless steel radiators which are corrosion resistant along with rust, stain and peeling resistant. They are more modern in design and feature impressive heat retention and long warranties usually ranging around 25 years. They can be more on the expensive side but they are worth it due to their longevity and durability.
Cast iron radiators have the highest durability and the highest heat retention among our radiator materials. Though they can take a while to fully heat up, once they are hot they can stay hot for hours after switching them off, making them perfect for spaces that struggle to hold heat. They usually include a 20-30 years warranty.
All warranties do vary on material and manufacturer so the lengths can differ with each radiator.
