Good afternoon bloggers, today we’re taking a look at a little piece of kit that might just save you a whole heap of stress.

Picture this; you’re redecorating a room, you come to change over the radiator and for whatever reason you simply cannot move your pipework from its current location, not even an inch! And you HAVE to match them to replace the ugly radiator you’ve had for years.

So you ‘umm’ and ‘arrr’ for a good while and begin a search to see what’s out there.

The Search

Looking for radiators can sometimes be hard. Even for our radiator experts finding a specific pipe centre to match up with what you already have can prove a nightmare! Sometimes you find a radiator that works but then you don’t like it and it’s straight back to the drawing board.

You see, the problem is that radiators, in their vast majority, are made to commonly height and width measurements. Because of this, in-between pipe centres can be nigh-on impossible to match up.

The Solution

You might have pipes which are, let’s say, 810mm wide. Not good. Most designer radiators have connections on the side, and to match this you would need a radiator pretty much 730mm wide, which is a fairly uncommon width.

But, how about we find a radiator 700mm wide? This will give us a pipe centre estimation of 780mm, and 30mm away from the important 810mm centre we need.

Now, we simply take two radiator tail extensions at 15mm each, making up 30mm, and screw one of those into each tapping.

These act to widen the openings to the specific distance you need them to be. These rigid extensions come in options of; 15mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm and 50mm, as well as two telescopic options at; 50mm and 70mm.

These are very simple solutions to a very difficult-to-overcome problem.
